Security Patch for OpenOffice.org 1.1.4

“All users of OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 are urged to download and install this security patch. It addresses a problem noted in a recent advisory. That advisory states that there is a security risk in all circulating releases of OpenOffice.org. This patch fixes the problem in 1.1.4 but not in earlier or subsequent releases. (For those interested, the issue filed was 46388.)

We suggest that users of releases prior to 1.1.4 upgrade by downloading either 1.1.4 and the patch, or waiting until a modified version of 2.0beta is released. That should be very soon.

Users of 2.0beta and beyond are requested to download OpenOffice.org 1.9.95. It will include the patch and be ready shortly.

Operating systems affected: All, including Linux, Solaris, Windows, Mac OS X. For the Mac OS X security patch, go to the project’s page. For other platforms, go to the Porting homepage.”
