Taking another serious look at VoIP technologies

  • No Related Post

As most of you already realize, there is much more to the voIP lifestyle than just Vonage and Skype. Still, in the blur of options and other hype out there, it is difficult to locate truly cool applications and services that can make this voice communication technology all that it could be.

Today I took some time round up some software programs and services that really caught my eye. As a matter of fact, I would be quite interested in hearing what, if any, experiences you have had with the items listed on this Weblog post.

For quite sometime now, VoIP technology has been something that has fascinated me to no end. While just about everyone has heard of Vonage and Skype these days, I could not shake the feeling that there had to be more to the world of VoIP services out there. After doing some digging, I ended up with the following discoveries.

Making Skype more useful-
If we are going to break down and use Skype from a Windows desktop, it might was well be worth it to us, right? The other day I told you how you can get a free voicemail program for Skype. Well, did you know that you can also use Skype right from Outlook as well? You sure can thanks to a program called Look2Skype. This program gives you full Skype access right from the popular Microsoft PIM.

If using your headset with Skype is getting old, you might just consider trying out one of the USB phone handsets that are out there on the market. Plug and play ready, this will likely get you a little bit more excited about using Skype and other VoIP applications from your Windows desktop.
