Electronics giants form alliance

The world’s four biggest consumer electronics companies have agreed to start using a common method to protect digital music and video against piracy and illegal copying, they said on Thursday.

On the one hand, yet another DRM to contend with. On the other, the article says they’re working long term to support all DRM types.

I still think reasonable costs and no DRM is the way to go that provides the most benefit to the consumer. Doubt we’ll ever see it, though.
