Well the rumors were true it looks like. Six Apart has bought LiveJournal.

I’ve been dying to post about this but I haven’t been able to until now. We just had to finish up the legal stuff and make sure everything was signed before we could make it all official.

So, yes, the rumors were true. Six Apart did indeed acquire LiveJournal. We’ve assembled a number of links that should answer all the questions and give you all the information you’d need.

As of right now it does not sound like either company is going to totally disappear or be swallowed up by the other one. The exciting news is that now both companies can share features that have previously only been accessible by the other.

As long as everything is handled in the right way this should be a benefit for both Livejournal and Six Apart fans. Now what was my Livejournal user name and password again? Might have to keep an eye on this one.
