Do geeks dream of electric anoraks?
The world’s first commercially available solar-powered anorak will be on sale by Christmas.
The electric coat uses solar panels fitted over the back to power batteries that charge devices via USB. They form the latest addition to the Scott eVest, a range of clothing designed to work with modern hi-tech devices.
“We are constantly seeking solutions to build state-of-the-art wearable technology,” said Scott Jordan, chief executive at Scott eVest.
“We believe this project represents the next logical step in consumer wearable computers. We expect solar panels to be incorporated into approximately 30 per cent of all outerwear in the next three to five years.”
The panels are removable so as to be used anywhere. Three hours of sunlight will provide a full charge, according to the manufacturer.
This latest anorak, called version three, has 42 hidden pockets specifically designed to hold phones, MP3 players and a laptop as well as fabric conduits for cabling.
Jordan explained that he designed the jacket after he got tired of using a separate carrier for his electronic devices.

I have recently retired and was cleaning out our basement while completing this process I have discovered a stash of food stuffs which my lovely wife has had stored. Please tell me if the following are safe to consume and just what the information on the bottles mean. They are
64 Oz. bottles of Wilderness Premium 100% Apple Juice, Bar Code 70283 09315. I believe the numbers on the top of cap are:014342-16
PAST Product of USA, (not positive whether the first number is a 0). Next one same bar code number on cap:814342-16 PAST, Product of USA. Next one same bar code again best I can determine numbers on cap are:114260 1922 VC - PASTEURIZED. Your assistance is appreciated. Should we use them or dispose of. Thank you.
