After posting an article yesterday about the Web Hosting Toy Drive, today I noticed they had received over $1,000 in donations. Proof that there are many giving people, not only in the Web hosting community but in the community of the Internet itself. Once the group had hit $500, the generous folks at iNet Interactive have offered to match the first $500 donated.
I received an E-mail yesterday from Paul Mowery, sending his thanks for the mention on Lockergnome.
Hi Mitch,
I would like to personally thank you very much for the very generous donation and also for the nice article which you made up about Web Hosting Toy Drive. As you mentioned in your article the web hosting industry is truely a dog eat dog market and it is really nice to see something that everyone can agree on and if possible lend out a hand to help some of those less fortunate than many of us are and I really like how well you pointed that out in your article.
I am honestly very surprised at the turnout we have had, right now we are just over 1k in total donations including iNET’s recent offer to match the first $500 so we are really doing to help quite a few kids this year, it is funny because as you probably saw my first idea was to just collect a dollar from as many people as possible and buy a hot wheels car for the boys and a cheap doll for the girls but with everyone being so generous we are really going to be able to pick out quite a few things we did not think were possible which only leaves us one problem which is where do I fit all there toys in my one bedroom apartment haha!
This year if things keep up as they are we will probably end up renting a U-Haul and next year I hope to have a physical office maybe with some square footage to backup all these toys :)
Thank you again and happy holidays to you.
Kindly,
Paul Mowery
