Tech Support

Ever had to call tech support and felt like you knew more than the tech on the other end of the phone? How about having to struggle with the one or two second delay while talking to a tech in India? Or, conversly, how about you supporting a user who doesn’t understand that you have to have the computer and monitor turned on? This cartoon covers these, and more - funny! WARNING: The language in the audio is definitely no politically correct - use headphones if you’re at work or wait ’til you get home.

How do I get misspelled words out of Word’s dictionary.
Also, my cursor recently has been jumping all over the place occassionally. Is there a fix for this?
Thanks

Don’t know about the cursor - but it might be a bad mouse. Try another one.

If it’s a word that you’ve entered into Word’s dictionary incorrectly, search for any .dic files, open them until you find the misspelled word, then just edit it out. .dic files will open with Notepad or a similar text editor.

Oh, yeah, if your mouse is a ball and roller type (not optical) the rollers probably need cleaning with a cotton swab and drugstore alcohol.

Oh I have a story almost as bad as that cartoon.

It is very funny when you start the conversation by saying the fallowing.

“Hello my name is.. the current system tech for …. calling about a problem with the latest … that we have received.”

Then they start with the list of every first computer owner mistake, that has ever been thought up. We know they have to go by there little computer play book, but still couldn’t they just “pretend” to have said the thirty minute long time wasting speal and get on with it?

What Do You Think?
