Spam Drops After Hurricanes Hit

  • No Related Post

A large percentage of spammers live in Florida? I suppose it is possible according to the article I read over at Internet Week. They report that there were major drops in spam during each of the hurricanes that hit the state. Nuts, huh?

Spam volume dropped in September, one message filtering firm said Thursday, while another noted that after each of three hurricanes struck parts of Florida that month, spam took a noticeable dip.

According to U.K.-based mail filtering provider MessageLabs, 72.1 percent of the mail it monitored in September for its clients was classified as spam, a fall from August’s high of 84.2 percent.
