Critical Security Fl aws in Mozilla, Thunderbird

The good news: they’ve been patched; the bad news: they existed in the first place. Download the latest versions, Mozilla 1.7.3, Firefox 1.0PR and Thunderbird 0.8 (www.mozilla.org), and you’re protected — for now. (See http://www.esecurityplanet.com/patches/article.php/3408301) With many people abandoning the good ship Microsoft in favor of Firefox, Opera and other IE alternatives, I fear that crackers will begin doing the same.

We, the users, just have to make sure that we keep everything up to date on our systems and remain alert. And even then we are at risk. But the truly exciting things in life always contain an element of danger, don’t they? Protect yourself, yes, but enjoy the adventure. It’s a whole, new world on the Web.
