Acacia Sues More Cable Companies

The lawsuits continue as Acacia sues more cable companies over the use of multimedia content. They believe that their patents are being violated by the cable companies as the content is shared to cable subscribers. Hmm, call it a hunch, but I think the cable companies might just win this one.

Acacia Research Corp. filed a second round of lawsuits against cable companies on Monday, targeting several local firms in Arizona and the Midwest. Acacia, which has charged that its Digital Multimedia Transmission (DMT) patents give the company fundamental rights to the the transmission of multimedia content, filed suit aginst 19 new firms, and added another to its existing suit filed in Northern California.
