Are we sick of Google yet? Expect to get even sicker as the Google IPO becomes an exercise in futility for the company and the investment community at large.
The reason why this has turned into a laughable fiasco is because the investment bankers, the brokers, and the middlemen have decided to queer this deal in any way they can.
Nobody who got rich during the dot-com era wants to see the model for the public financing of a company like Google turn into a free-for-all auction. Hence we’re seeing a lot of nay saying and bad press.
I thought the Google IPO would ignite a new era in tech growth. I didn’t expect it to turn into this mess we have. The idea behind the Google auction is sound, although still ahead of its time.
