NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope’s Imaging Spectrograph Has Failed

We’ve been expecting it for awhile and it’s finally happened. The Hubble Space Telescope has gone offline. Even when the shuttles were running they didn’t plan to fix it when it failed, so it’s outlook is bleak. Hopefully there are plans in the works to replace it with some kind of newer array, giving us an even better view into the cosmos.
