AMD introduces what I consider to be a hybrid of Athlon and Duron CPUs. They are calling it the AMD Sempron and it does appear to have some promise. AMD claims that while it may be a “value-priced processor,” it is not without the horsepower to get the job done. For instance, they are saying that it can do office type productivity and some digital content creation as well. Sounds pretty cool, but why would anyone bother with the Athlon chips being so cheap nowadays?
