I’m wondering what took them so long… “Find detailed explanations, recommended user actions, and links to additional support and resources. New! We’ve added Event ID search capabilities at search.microsoft.com. Here’s how it works: Enter ‘1001′ (for example) or ‘error 1001′ and note that a relevant result appears as one of the top results overall and within the Support & Troubleshooting category. Each page referenced has an informative title, which includes the phrase ‘Events & Errors Help,’ followed by the product it applies to, the error source, and error number. When you click on an ‘Events & Errors’ item in these Search results, it provides the error info we have on file, and it provides links to relevant Knowledge Base articles.”
