I think that the more hotspots around, the better. There will come a time when hotspots are (hopefully) at least as widespread as cellphone coverage. McDonald’s, while not known as the high-tech gurus in most neighborhoods, are helping that along.

Actually, it’s a growing trend. Starbucks is hot-spotting their outlets. Many hotels and even motels are providing high speed Internet access to their guests and most airports of any size are already covered. Add to that KOA campgrounds, which will be hot by year’s end and the numerous Internet cafes and community hotspots (like the entire city of Athens, GA).

So, it will happen, it’s just a matter of time.
