Read carefully the README (and/or INSTALL) files and note those features that are documented to still contain bugs or which are not fully implemented yet, so that you can save yourself from unnecessary surprises.

Try as much as possible to explore the various corners of the program and don’t stick with just the default settings and functions offered.

Reporting bugs and other problems: We especially appreciate it when the tester is not only able to thoroughly test the program, but also reports the results of his/her testing. We have started a bugtracker program on our server for this reason.
