Nokia has released intial sales figures for its N-Gage portable game deck/cell phone combo. According to Nokia, 400,000 units have been sold to retail outlets since the product launched on October 7. In addition, they claim that follow-up orders have begun trickling in. Calling the debut “strong,” Nokia says it is pleased with the initial response and hopes to sell between 6 million and 9 million units by year-end 2004.
I think ephori said it all in the Ars Forums: “And here I always thought that suck was a vague, nebulous term for something that was poorly thought out, poorly done, or poorly implemented. An adjective, if you will. Imagine my surprise when I found that Nokia was actually able to capture and bottle suck, and plans to sell it to the public.” ‘Nuff said.
