you can download it with that link, but when you try to install it, it asks for a serial number and login that you are supposed to have received from avid, so it won’t let you install. doesn’t do you much good.

The auth code and reg number absolutely worked for me…

The auth code and ser number worked…thanks. I had the free DV on another computer and couldn’t get it to copy to my new one and saw that Avid took it off its site. So thanks for your help

Does anyone know of a download site that Avid free DV for mac is still available? It’s no longer available as a download either from Apple or Avid.

Does anyone know where I could get it for, or how to make it work, with Windows Vista?

To Gothboy – alas, none of the Avid products are available to run on Vista yet. There’s no news yet as to if and when they will support Vista, and as they’ve stopped AvidFreeDV, I figure the true answer to your question will be never.

I guess your only option is to get something like Virtual Machineware and load on a Virtual XP system – see if you can install FreeDV onto that and get it working.

I downloaded the avid free dv and still cannot get it to work, it keeps taking me to the install part of the program….please help!

Just downloaded and serialized thanks to iMarp. Now I have to restart my computer. Keeping my fingers crossed…

cantcope, it does work with vista…

before you open the launch.exe, hit properties and then go to compatibility. Then check “Run in compatibility mode, Windows XP SP 2″

Is there a patch or something to repair my software as it keeps saying “Exception: ADM_DSOUND_MIXER_OPEN_ERROR” whenever I try to open Avid Free DV and there is no longer any support from Avid? I’ve tried reinstalling and repairing it on my system (XP) but it doesn’t do anything.
