Urgent: Patch the RPC Security Flaw Now!

We’ve had reports of users being affected by the RPC flaw for a few weeks, which Microsoft released a patch for almost a month ago. Those affected have probably seen a centered dialog window notifying you that the system is about to shutdown (here). A workaround for this would be to change the system’s response to a RPC service failure from Reboot to Take No Action (here) You can do this via Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services > Properties of Remote Procedure Call (RPC) > Recovery. Although its strongly advised you install the patch immediately instead.
