“According to West Technology Research Solutions (WTRS), ultrawideband (UWB) will eventually beat out both the current Wi-Fi wireless networking standard and Bluetooth, while the open standard ZigBee protocol will enable every system in the house to talk to each other.” - Interesting, a wireless solution that can encompass everything from the PC to the cell phone to the refrigerator.
Update: Seems UWB can even be used to replace conventional radar. Air Traffic Controllers can use it more effectively and at farther ranges. More info:
