Are we ready for cell phone/PDA/camera convergence?

PDAs such as the Palm Pilot, Pocket PC, and RIM Blackberry have come a long way in terms of usability and utility, but I still feel, that despite their huge strides, that they have not taken off as much as they probably could have.
The problem is ordinary cell phones. Almost everybody I know owns and uses a cell phone, yet less than an eighth of those same people uses a PDA on a regular basis and even less carry them along with their cell phones.
It would seem the obvious answer is a cell phone/PDA convergence device, such as the Pocket PC Smart Phone, HandSpring Treo, or even the Danger Hiptop Communicator.
