“A while back we reported on a presentation by a Microsoft rep at WinHec. This presentation stated that there would be an updated version of the Tablet PC OS in 2003. Apparently that presentation had some incorrect information in it, and as the result there will not be a version 2 coming in 2003. According to the Microsoft Tablet PC team members that were in the Microsoft sponsored chat yesterday, the next Tablet PC release will be in line with the Windows Longhorn timeframe. I’m sure we will see alot of hardware innovation between now and then though, so even without updates to the software there will be plenty of new things around.”
