“This is it! You’re getting married. It’s special. You’re different from other couples. So why should your wedding look the same as theirs?”

My name is Melinda Abrego and my husband to be is Cable Landry.
We are from Southeast Texas, Home of severe southern drawls, mosquitoes the size of Buick’s and gobs of musicians.
I have been planning my own wedding, with the help of a few friends I am managing to keep my sanity,

Being that Cable and I are deeply involved in the local music scene,I decided that I wanted to have a music festival or sorts that would hopefully change the local music scene for the better. What better way to celebrate our new beginning as a married couple than by having a huge reception/after party surrounded by our favorite friends, family and of course showcasing the talent in this area.
I’m pretty sure this is the biggest local music event any one person ( or couple) has put on …if there is another I haven’t heard of it and no one has mentioned it.
After an eclectic ceremony proceeded by an ordained minister with a nosering “Dre” (lead singer of Killjoy72) and a wedding party
consisting of 13 groomsmen ( all musicians) and 13 bridesmaids ( some musicians as well) along with my children as flower girls and ring bearer. I have 13 local bands that are going to perform,
Being that this event is getting bigger and bigger….
So I rented out the Ford Park Exhibit Hall.
Seen here on their website http://www.fordparktx.com/default.asp?lnopt=5&sn1opt=3&sn2opt=1&month=2&year=2007&newsID=0

Its 50,000 sq ft of space. I’m only renting half of it though. Also I decided to make the after party a ticketed event.. so its $22 per person through ticket master.

Jeff Morrison of Roctavian productions is going to be the mastermind running all the sound. Were pretty sure he’s the next Rick Ruben…

Local TV stations 4,6 and 12 are supposed to be covering the wedding and hopefully the show(s) afterwards.
Clearchannel Radio station BIG DOG 106 is going to be there I think.
I really want to give the something back to all the musicians that have been overlooked and underappreciated for so long.
I’m so excited for this I can hardly stand it! I feel sort of like Santa Claus… I think this will make so many people happy! Its amazing to me how many guys are coming up to me saying ” I cant wait to go to your wedding!” HA! You dont hear THAT often from a bunch of fellas!

My soon to be hubby will be playing with a few bands… so he is playing drums for one, Possibly bass for another that consistently has an absentee bassist and vocals for another.

Now I will have an absolute heart attack if this were to cost me over $300,000. But I though… ehhh… its unusual so I wanted to share our event with you and see if it was of interest.

we have named this event the “Razzmela Rockfest”
and we will have it every year on our anniversary…I think we should have many Razzmela festivals showcasing all genres of music in this area…I have so many plans and ideas that keep snowballing!

I am 32 yrs old and Cable is 31.
A few Photos of us are attached as well as flyers for the event.
That day I will be easy to spot, If anyone sees a 6ft tall woman with a crazed look on her face wearing a metallic silver dress …well that’ll be me.

Myself and all bands are on myspace.com

Well let me just start off by saying I really want my dream wedding to come true. Well my man Josh and I have two kids Jordan and Jeremiah. Also our little angel in heaven who is Resting In Peace Jazzanae. Yes, were keeping the J’s in our family. Well our daughter passed away in December of 2003 around Christmas time and we are still paying off her funeral so thats why we need a dream wedding. Please help us in fulfilling our dreams into making an absolute dream wedding come true. There will be lots of people there from his family and my family.

I met the love of my life before i ever laid eyes on him, we chatted online i know risky, perhaps but i have no regrets;i was in NB and he in ON but are spirits connected and i knew i had found my soulmate, i had waited all my adult life to find the love i discovered virtually. I left NB behind and moved to ON to be with him and took my 16yr old daughter with me as we moved by bus and took little with us but i knew i would have all i ever needed; I would have true love finally! Now i want a wedding fit for the day of my dreams but working at a call centre part time not the best way to budget such an event. I would love to share my online romance and prove that real life fairytales can come true and 2008 is the year of fate.

What Do You Think?
