Saw this on /. a while ago, its about a report that has been released recently on Open Source Communities and the success they have in pulling off projects and being quite successful with them, this report focuses on 2 popular projects/communities, Touchgraph and Squirrelmail the report analyses how the members of the project/community work together.
Quite an interesting read I must say, definitely worth the time.
