Windows key leak threatens mass piracy

Ooops. Someone has leaked a product key code for Windows Server 2003, and it’s now running rampant on the web. If found, it would allow the user to use the Standard, Enterprise or Web editions of the server without needing to use Microsoft’s controversial Product Activation system.
However, Microsoft warns that updates to the server may refuse to install on machines with the leaked key, and their legal department is on the case. They’re caught between a rock and a hard place,
quoted a Microsoft spokesperson.
