RedHat Linux 9.0 Released For Download

RedHat Linux 9.0 was released as a free download today. While the software had been out for around a week, you either had to be a subscriber to the RedHat Network or had to purchase it at the RedHat store. Beware though, because it’s the first day of it being free, the FTP server is EXTREMELY bogged down. It took me around 100 times to actually log in (I kept getting rejected). I’m anxious to see how it turns out–7 hours and 3 minutes to go!

Dear Tech:
I was having trouble installing Red Hat Linux 9.0 from the 3 installation cds I downloaded from Sunday last.. Whenever I put in the 1st CD I kept on getting on my monitor:
FREQUENCY OUT OF RANGE:
Fh: 29 KHz - 72 KHz
Fv: 46 Hz - 140 Hz
Fh: 23.7 KHz – 37.7 KHz
The first two Rows were set in a Dark blue Back ground while the last Row was set in a Light, light Blue (Changing to light green) background.
This happened until I realized I should have typed: ‘linux text’ instead of pressing ‘Enter’ at start up.
It loaded and install and I made a boot cd also. Upon restarting to my surprise the same message as was put on the monitor when I selected ‘enter ’ instead of ‘linux text’. Also. There is no “Boot option” only Red Hat Linux OS can be seen. Win XP was invisible.
How do I install it, My monitor ia a: 15“ Delux Color SVGA.
