As deadline nears, Web surfers flock to tax sites

With the clock ticking toward the April 15 deadline, traffic to Internet tax sites is on the rise as surfers flock to the Web for information to assist in the annual ritual of filing returns. “As in years past, we’re seeing Americans visiting tax sites starting in January, to access the latest tax information, forms, or to file returns,” said NetRatings analyst Greg Bloom. “Online tax filing has grown over the past few years, with the U.S. government heavily promoting the benefits of completing taxes on the Internet.”
Despite all the nasty things we say about the IRS, they do have an excellent Web site.
