Actually these disc, on a technical level, are nothing at all like CDs. They measure about an inch across and will be able to hold about 4gigs of data. I have heard of attempts to introduce mini-discs before, but so far all attempts have been unsuccessful (for one reason or another). In many ways, CDs have become the come to be as ubiquitous as floppy drives. I have a hard time believing that this technology will be terribly successful against the CD, especially because of the advantage CD drives have in market share and multiple uses (i.e., making data or music discs). But interesting nonetheless.
