In the current incarnation of Sun vs. Microsoft, the judge has ruled that MS must bundle Sun’s Java with Windows. Most victories against Microsoft are cheered by the computing community and I have to agree with article here, I don’t think this one should. The writer makes the point that preventing MS from making Windows incompatible with Java is definitely a good thing; but a lack of exclusion is not the same thing as inclusion. Anyone else think Real Player, or any other competing middlewear company, will be lining up to take advantage of this?
