“Signaling a new, get-tough attitude toward spammers, California’s attorney general Thursday filed the first state-led suit against a bulk-mail marketing firm.
Attorney General Bill Lockyer alleged that PW Marketing of Canyon Country in Los Angeles County has sent millions of illegal unsolicited e-mails advertising tools for spamming, including how-to books for $39 and lists of e-mail addresses of California residents.”
Three cheers for California. Let’s hope other states follow suit. It may be fruitless but spam is getting WAY out of control.
