Plagiarism-Detection Tool Creates Legal Quandary

But now some college lawyers and professors are warning that one of the most widely used plagiarism-detection services may be trampling on students’ copyrights and privacy.”

Television viewing can have a great influence on a child’s emotional development. Based on a study of childhood long term television violence viewing, it was concluded that long term violence television viewing can negatively affect the child’s emotional development.(9) This 15 year study was a follow up of a 1977 longitudinal study of 557 children that range from age 6 through 10 years who grew up in Chicago. The psychologist re-surveyed 329 of the original children in their early 20’s by asking their current television preference and their aggressive behaviors. Those 329 participants spouse or friends were also surveyed and were asked to rate the frequency of the participants aggressive behavior. Criminal records and traffic violations of the participants was also obtained. The study found that men who watched television violence during childhood have a high probability of having criminal convictions and traffic violations. (3) Through the study, the psychologists also concluded that men who have been high television violence viewers have convicted crimes which are three times more than other men. It was found that aggression was also predictable in future of women who watched high amount of television violence during childhood. (3) And their probability of committing some type of crime was more than four times of those women who did not watch high quantity of television violence. The research study noted that a child’s intellectual capabilities, social status, child’s initial aggression levels and their parents’ aggressiveness are all not dependents of the study.
