How to Delete Your MySpace Account
MySpace was one of the first wildly successful and most popular social networks on the Internet. Though Facebook has taken over the title of most popular social network, now boasting over 500 million users, MySpace is still widely used by bands and up-and-coming musical artists to share new music with fans. Some users of MySpace may no longer find this evolution of MySpace useful, though, and may want to delete their MySpace profiles entirely. Deleting your MySpace account will remove any content previously published on MySpace, such as blog posts and biographical information, and any pictures previously uploaded, posted and shared on MySpace. Deleting your MySpace will also remove any connections or “friends” you have made over the lifespan of your MySpace membership. If you once had a MySpace profile but no longer want your MySpace account, or no longer need or use your MySpace profile, you may want to permanently delete your MySpace account. If so, here’s how to delete your MySpace account:
- Go to MySpace.com and log in to your MySpace account. If you have forgotten your MySpace password, you can use the “Forgot Password?” link next to the Login button to reset your password.
- At the top of MySpace.com, click on the “My Stuff” link from the black MySpace navigation bar.
- From the dropdown menu, Choose “Privacy Settings”, on the left side of the the dropdown menu.
- This will bring you to your MySpace account Settings page. On the left side of the Settings page, under Account Settings and Privacy, click “Cancel Account.” This will bring you to the MySpace Account Cancellation page.
- You will then be asked if want to cancel your MySpace account, with a button to confirm that you want to cancel account. Click the “Cancel Account” button, and this will begin the process to cancel your MySpace account.
