Computer Hackers Will Always be One Step Ahead

Gunslot is carrying an interesting article on why computer hackers will always be one step ahead of the government:

“The United States Government, Playboy, Western Union, Creditcards.com and CD Universe are just a few of thousands of businesses and government departments that have been hacked into resulting in over a billion dollars of damages per year and climbing. The number of hackings will continue to climb because finance to hackers and organization by hackers will keep hackers ahead of the law.

Playboy’s nightmare began when a hacker broke into the company’s database and stole the company’s customer credit card and personal information. Playboy was then extorted over a period of months with the thief brazenly taunting law enforcement officials and company executives. The thief unfortunately could not be traced. “

Another thing to keep in mind, something I was told back in my school days is, your anti-virus programs (no matter which one it is) cannot protect your computer against a new virus, trojan, or anything else they want to call it because the A-V program/administrators may not yet be aware of the new virus, trojan, etc…

It aways good to use a top of the line A-V program, keep it updated (the more frequently the better), be cautous of unknown e-mials, be carefull of the web sites you visit, and always keep an eye on guest, friends, kids, and kids with thier friends ( not that they would screw something up on purpose, but they may visit somewhere or adjust one of your settings to reak havoc on your system and have you pulling your hair out trying to figure out why your system isn’t acting the way it used to ). Always, always back up your important files on an external device EX: CD-ROM, can you imagine loosing all your wedding picture, plus every picture you ever took with your digital camera and downloaded to your computer…My wife and I can tell you all about it (we learned the heard way a long time ago). If you follow these simple guideline, you can greatly reduce the chances of something happening to your computer.

keep in mind, if someone wants to get into your computer they probably will… it’s just to bad that these people that are smart enough to do such horrable things can’t use thier training to do more possitive things in the world.

Eric

sir,
in my college wifi access is there but they kept a password to login and we are unable to do connect to internet can i hack that and can i connect to internet from that

It’s very true that hackers are far smarter than the ordinary people did…
