Mesothelioma Cancer Law

Mesothelioma cancer law is really personal injury law applied to people who have contracted mesothelioma cancer as a result of exposure to asbestos. Mesothelioma is an otherwise very rare form of cancer which invades the mesothelial cells in the membranes in the chest and abdominal cavity.

Because asbestos is highly carcinogenic, and easily inhaled, asbestos exposure is a leading cause of mesothelioma, which in turn has given rise to the mesothelioma law practice.

The American Cancer Institute explains that “The main risk factor for mesothelioma is contact with asbestos. In the past, asbestos was used for insulation because it does not conduct heat well and doesn’t easily melt or burn. It was also used in other products such as floor tiles, door gaskets, roofing, and patching compounds. Since asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral, it can also be found in dust and rocks in certain parts of the United States.
