British Lottery International Internet Scam

I’ve had a lot of questions asking about the British Lottery International email scam which so many folks are receiving. It seems that with the Katrina scams starting to wane, the British Lottery International scam is picking up steam again. The questions always run along the lines of this one:

“I just received an email from “British Lottery International” advising a lottery number had been assigned to my email address and I had won a large amount of money. I was given a web site and person name to contact to start the process of collecting the money. I am assuming this is a scam but would like to verify.

Can you help?”

Yes, I can help…

I think Zenith Financial Management Group should be sued for all the heartache and stress they caused for all of us gullable Americans. What they have done is cruel and unethical and they should pay for their crimes. They have promised money to all the people they have sent the fraudulent letters too they should be responsible to come through with every dime of it. Especially to all the people who are being brought up on criminal charges and the people having to pay back the bank thousands of dollars. Royal British Lotto….LOL….And canadians wonder why he can’t stand them!

hello
i have received an email from the british lottery international.

i live in aisa i never bought a ticket and never entered into a lottory programme.

i have received an email getting 2 million pounds of uk .

is that true.

i m not a uk resident.

how its possible that i win a huge amount of money.

seemi

my comment i cant belive this.Iknow everybody fraud to the internet.

i chris agree with cristina they should be sued,i am a disableed women
with rare disease,in my left arm, that money they say we won, that was cure and not right,my husband works all day then takes care of me through surgreys and pain lots of pain and when we seen the letter and everything it said ,it was like all are prays and dreams came true.

i wish there was a way to make them pay what they promise, maybe that will stop them from giving so many people hopes that they really won. all the e-mails i received sounded so true that i almost sent the money to get over one million dollars. i am trying to start a program for troubled teens and that sure would help.

i also get email. from british lottery. i reply them. then another mail come to say that ur prize is ready. what can i do now?

I was scammed by believing I had won millions of dollars. Well almost, then I checked into it and found this was a big lie…scam…and an insult to alot of us people who are in need. This is what I wrote to them before I decided not to give them any more info. Just wanted to share it in hopes others will not take these YOU HAVE WON things seriously.

To Managing Director Mrs. Roseline Thomas, and/or Mr. David Foster of AOB Finance

I am writing to you in response to a letter I received, supposedly from The National British Lottery of news that I have won a lottery in the amount of $3,815,950.00
I am very hesitant to do this for I fear that this news is just some kind of a scam of some sort. I don’t understand what anyone would get out of doing such a dispicable thing to tell someone, who by the way is in very much need of a blessing as this, if it were not true. But then I suppose there are some people out there who could do such a thing. How cruel that would be to give such hopes to one who is so desperate for good happenings such as this sounds. Besides the disapointment of the trickery of getting ones hopes up after getting one of these messages of wrong doing is the fear of getting ourselves in some kind of scam that could financially hurt us more than the already bad financial situation we are already experiencing.
These fears keep us from responding quickly. Maybe I shouldn’t be replying at all. But
when one is in dire need one acts on these quips. I really would like to speak to someone in person about this situation, but again I’m sure this would take money in which I don’t have to do so. Therefore I am unable to make a phone call to investigate this claim. and so I am emailing to see if I can find out anything more that would either make me more comfortable to continue seeking info or maybe uncomfortable enough to just leave it alone..Please bare with me as I explain myself and my financial situation. I am a 66 yr. old widow of 16 years. since 1991. I have lost everything including my husband. My home, ( have lived with my daughter, my son and now my sister for the past 16 years) my financial security,(have had no income except a disability pymnt), and my health, ( have been on doctor’s care for an emotional disability and other physical problems). How anyone can con people such as I and sleep nights is beyond me.
If this is not a scam to con me or others as I, then I trully am sorry for writing these words.
For there are good things happening in this world today and many good people who are very caring and giving also.
If I were to really win any amount of money from any source it would be a miracle and I would definitely share with those who are in need. I know you could care less for all these thoughts but I just have to give them anyway.
So in turn, I am going to give you the numerical info that was requested in this letter. I will be very leary of giving out any other info( as social sec.#, bank account #t, or other personal data, until I feel secure enough to do so and have this checked out by others first.
I will do as letter asks as for giving this info to public( except my immediate family members) for now until I hear back from you and /or your staff of your promotion program.

I am beginning my claim, by attempting to contact my claim agent Mr. David Foster of AOB Finance by email, for processing and remittance of my prize money to my designated account. Please tell me what further actions I am to take now. Please reply back to me and let me know if this winning the National Lottery is for real or not.

Sincerely,
P.S. If this is for real….God Bless You
Janice Lester If not……..you should be ashamed

The reply I got was only wanting more personal info. No comments at all.

hello,

honestly, who would really believe that in this world anybody could win such a huge amount of money without even applying to any lottery? Today I got this e-mail for the third time already. See how lucky I am since I got selected so often!!!! I’m telling you, this must be deleted as soon as can be.

i can’t beleive that i have won a huge amount. today when i got the e-mail, i was just surprised. thanks british lottery

how can i beleive that they are really giving money? i think its totally fraud

I just received my British National Lottery email today. I’ve seen so many of these types of emails that I actually just get a laugh out of reading them. I feel bad for the people that believe they truely won something. Just a few dead give away details for verifying a scam email:
1. The sender doesn’t match the signature at the bottom of the email
2. Multiple emails to reply to(look at sender, reply-to, and near the bottom of the email)
3. replies that go back through any webmail client (yahoo, hotmail, aol, etc).
4. Complete plain text body
5. Multiple spelling errors
6. Erronious formatting of text
7. Poor punctuation
Email addresses can be spoofed though, so they may look like they’re from a legitimate source, but the reply-to is always hokey.

This is exactly as it was formatted in my version of this scam.

I ALREADY TOLD MY STORY,BUT MEANWHILE I PAID FOR THE INLAND REVENUE FOR RELEASING MY PACKAGE WITH THE CHEQUE,BUT NOW THEY ASK ME TO PAY AN ENORMOUS SUM FOR A NON TERRPROST CRIME CERTIFICATE, SO THEY WILL ALLOW TO PAY MY WINNING TO THE BANK FOR OPENING OF AN ACCOUNT.
PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS A FRAUD OR COULD IT BE TRUE, BECAUSE I NEVER BOEUGHT A LOTTERY TICKET FROM BRITISH LOTTERY UNTERNATIONAL. . I AM SURE IT IS A LIE,BUR MY CURIOSITY WANTS TO KNOW WHY THEY INSIST STILL AFTER 2 MONTHS ,DO THEY NOT BE AFRAID OF THE LAW, APPARENTLY NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT ?
I WOULD LIKE TO GET YOUR ANSWER TO MY EMAIL,PLEASE.
O THANK YOU GERT

I can’t believe that this is legal! Most people have money problems and when they get this email that they have won millions of pounds (however much that is) it seems that their prayers have been answered and their life will finally start turning around. This is so cruel to those people who are in desperate need of money and who actually believe this stuff. Someone should do something about this email that gives people a false sense of HOPE. The only way to stop this that i can imagine would be to sue these people for every penny they assured people! Maybe if we could all get together and find a good lawyer….people need to know that it is not right to play with people’s minds that way and the only way they will see the error of their ways is to have consequences for their actions!

I recieved an email that says Sony web international.Telling me I have won a great deal of money. I know this must be a scam. I got sucked into one and lost alot of money.Dont be fooled by these criminals as I was. Before you send any info check with FBI or scam busters. It will save you alot of money and heartache. The internet is more corrupt by the day. Dont believe anything you can not verify.

I want to know whether this is acually real, if ‘YES’ I want take part and testify to the whole world that is true.

Can any one Explain me how to go ahead If one recieved such mail?

I recieved mail frm woman named Sandra on a tagged sight, claiming that i have won One Million Pounds in line with a promotion for the 2010 World Cup and tagged users! It is/was supposed to be from the British Organizing Lottery Promotion! It also has a claiming Agent which happens to be a Mr. Mark Spencer and has a Ref. No and a Winning No. in it! However thus far no one has contacted me! Whoever plays such nasty games should be ashamed of themselves as some all people out would be most grateful for this amount of cash! British Lottery should take some measures of precaution to stop this scam from going around as it just brings false hope to people!

also will someone please confirm with me whether this is true or false?

I can’t understand, why permits UK government existence of such sacamers. Or this is very good behavior of GB political system: we can cry about right’s violations around the world and can allow dirty actions for our people. Double moral, double diplomacy…

Same thing of my situation now. After reading this i dont know if i should believe them or not. Pls help of what to do?..

What Do You Think?
