Russia says “Nyet” to Anti-Spam Laws

Russia’s Information Technologies and Communications Minister, Leonid Reiman, has stated that Russia has no intention of putting into place any sort of anti-spam law.

Reiman was quoted as saying “I am against any kinds of filters and a special regime on the Internet. The web is developing rapidly and our task is to support it.”

Rather, he says, dealing with spam is between the ISP and consumer, and he is quoted as believing that “international community decisions should be followed and technical solutions offered by software and hardware producers”.
