Network World Fusion Tests 41 Spam Filters, Here are the Results

Network World Fusion has just released the results of its test of forty-one spam filters! Apparently when they put out the word that they would be reviewing spam filters, they had anticipated that maybe ten or so would show up to the party. Instead they were astonished to find forty-one showing up at their door! So they put them all to the test!

They tested each of the spam filters for “spam catch rate” (taking into account both false positives, and false negatives), and performance and throughput. Those which made the first cut (36 of the 41) then were really put through their paces.

The products included spam filters from all walks of life, and included those which had built-in virus protection as well as those which didn’t, those which were controlled at the server, and those which were controlled by the end user… Continued…]
