Has mobile technology become the beast and whipping boy for all of the mobile exec’s troubles these days? If I didn’t know any better, it could be argued that this is the case.

Call it the wireless leash syndrome.

Mobile phones and handheld devices have made companies more productive. But new findings reveal that those who stay connected to work around the clock can hurt their well-being and their family lives.
The need to constantly check one’s messages is creating a strong dependence for some mobile workers, says Dr. Ken Siegel, president of Impact Group, a team of psychologists who consult on business management.
