CNN streams live to Korean mobiles

OK, this is pretty wild. It seems that if you are living in Korea, you can now listen to CNN over your mobile device.

SINGAPORE — CNN Intl. on Saturday became the first foreign channel to stream live to Korean mobile users.

In a deal with Korea’s largest communications company, SK Telecom, CNN Intl.’s live 24-hour service is available to the telco’s 8 million 3G subscribers.

“We are delighted to work alongside SK Telecom to launch this pioneering product for Korean consumers, particularly so in a country with the world’s most advanced mobile technology infrastructure,” said Ron Lee, veep of Turner Broadcasting Systems Korea.

Text service CNN Mobile was launched in 1999 with targeted regional content. It is available to more than 210 million subscribers in 30 countries. Source: variety.com
