Not sure if this falls into the realm of stupid or just “why”? Regardless, I suppose there is a market for a speaker set shaped like a car?
NEW YORK (Billboard) - While the popularity of automotive iPod integration kits has soared, Corgi International may have gotten the wrong idea.
The die-cast memorabilia and collectibles manufacturer has created the iCar, a line of car-shaped speakers for the iPod. Available in either the Cadillac Escalade or the Nissan 240SX models, the iCar speakers not only pump out the music, but they also rock side to side and up and down to the music while colored lights blink along the wheel wells and undercarriage.
Both models can connect to any music source via a headphone input jack; the iCar also ships with its own custom music. The 1:24 scale replicas are powered by either three AAA batteries or an included AC adapter.
The iCar will begin rolling in July for a suggested retail price of $35. Source: Reuters/Billboard
