Joint venture brings South Korean style mobile services to U.S. youth

The real money in the eyes of a number mobile phone companies appears to be with the American youth. I on the other hand feel that if the research was done, the same could be said for a number of other age groups in the US.
Helio, a mobile phone service targeted at the youth market, said Tuesday it is officially open for business.
The Los Angeles-based company, a joint venture of EarthLink and SK Telecom, one of South Korea’s largest mobile communications carriers, also announced its all-important price list.
The service, which is patterned after similar services in South Korea, has three pricing plans. The least expensive plan offers the user 1,000 minutes for $85 per month. The second plan offers 1,500 minutes for $100 per month, while the most expensive plan offers 2,500 minutes for $135 per month. Members can also choose an à la carte plan that includes 500 minutes for $40 per month.
