Apple Denies Ability to Run Windows in OS X

All in context? When Apple spokeswoman, Natalie Kerris, was asked about running Windows in OS X, her response was, “We are not providing a way to run Windows within OS X.” Yet Boot Camp’s very own web page has a notation to Leopard, the next version of OS X, on it’s side bar stuffed in between all this Windows hoopla. Further, SvenOnTech has reported that indeed, Leopard will have Windows virtualization support. So what’s Kerris talking about?
Kerris’ reply may have been a way to keep the surprise under the hood a bit longer and was simply a response to Boot Camp. With all the excitement being generated with Boot Camp, Apple may not be ready to - um, excuse the pun - let the cat out of the bag on Leopard’s virtualization trick. Even if that’s not it, Jobs has said just in the past few years that Apple wouldn’t do certain things, like make an iPod that played video, and then turned around and did it.
We’re not holding out on Kerris’ statement by any means and nor should you. We’re pretty sure that Virtual PC will end up being a dog buy for Microsoft as by the time WWDC rolls around, we’ll see a Leopard jump through some windows. Meow.
