Let The Man Navigate You There

One thing time does to CES is allows the solid contenders to be separated from the hype. That’s pretty much what has happened in the two months since I attended CES and I now can look back at what I saw. Sure, there was some mighty sweet stuff there, but in the end, I only remember a few things that will truly be of substance in my — and your — life.

One of those very life changing items is the Navman iCN 320. The great folks at Navman set SvenOnTech up with a unit to try. At CES, Andrew Golden of Golden Public Relations, told me that the iCN 320 was for “techno-phobes”. He kept pushing how easy it was and that the simplicity in the unit could put confidence into any driver. I smiled and told him that I had the perfect person to test his claim. My wife. She always worries about getting lost and she would in essence review the unit. Golden welcomed the challenge and made sure we had a unit to test sooner then you could say, “How do we get to Legoland, again?”

SvenOnTech has put this unit through the ringer. Between my wife and I, we have put over 2,000 miles on this bad boy and except for one instance of not having an address in its database (that the online map sites did,) this thing has been stellar. In fact, it’s out witted Google Maps more then once and getting us to our location quicker than those crazy kids in Mountain View.

I don’t want to give the whole cat away, yet. We’ve got the review coming and SvenOnTech will be pretty darn thorough (aren’t we always?). So stick around and you’ll see it coming once we take care of one or two things with Navman (nothing bad…all good — we just can’t tell you right now.)
