RNS Launches An Update For Your Palm

The Windows Start Menu-like launcher for your Palm has just been released with a new and leaner version. Optimizing the code allowed RNS to shave 30KB from the application as well as bumping up performance. With a completely configure menu, you can add anything that lives in your Palm. Don’t worry about space because there is virtually and unlimited number of sub-menus you can create. With such neat features as being able to dial predefined phone numbers (smartphones only,) Recent Used list, Bluetooth power toggle, Find, and a lock to list just a few, you’d be silly not to check out RNS::Hi-Launcher.

Here’s a quick list of the changes since version 3.0:

Version 3.1:

  • Menus are saved together with their Frame and Contents properties.

  • The “Save” dialog uses the previously loaded Menu’s name by default.
  • Smoother “Mosaic” animation.
  • Significant program size reduction (by 30K) due to code optimization.

Version 3.0:

  • Menus saving and loading.

  • “Toggle Hi-Launcher on/off” commands for faster Hi-Launcher activation/deactivation.
  • Menu items can be made invisible.
  • The phone number picker (for the “Dial” items) now also fills in the “Caption” field.
  • Fixed compatibility with TapWave Zodiac.
  • Bugfix - could crash on switching to card applications from certain applications (e.g. from Blazer on palmOne Treo).
  • Bugfix - the Menu could immediately hide on palmOne Tungsten|T3 and Tungsten|T5.
  • Other minor enhancements, features, bugfixes…
