Panasonic has shown off its new cordless phone with built-in Skype at CeBIT. Based on the popular KX-TG9000 phone, this phone will allow “some European” customers to plug in an RJ-45 cable into the phones base and just dial a Skype user. No Wi-Fi, no PC, no hassles. The phone also supports SkypeIn, SkypeOut, as well as built-in voicemail. Oh ya, it does regular POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service,) too.
Panasonic states that this will bring VoIP to mainstream but if it’s only going to be available in some European countries. I don’t know how you can makes such a statement with such a small footprint.
