Enter Text Faster With TenGO’s New SIP for Windows Mobile

I’m always looking for a better way to enter text into my Pocket PC. Since the days of my Casio Cassiopeia and Palm Pilot, I thirst for a near perfect way to enter E’s, 8’s, S’s, and many other characters that seem to get mixed up with other things from the alpha beta soup of the various SIPs available. I found a great one a few years back, but after the French developer ignored my requests for support and let the fairly good program age like grapes in a hot field to wrinkle into ill tasting raisins, I gave up on it and moved on. MyScript had such promise but oh well.
Having tried many different SIPs, I just really have become leery of anything anymore. Most usually are worse then what comes with the operating system and since they all charge for the input software, it isn’t worthy of my time or money. But I look at TenGO’s offering here and I must admit, I’m a bit curious. It looks like it could work.
Using a “guessing” input, much like T9 on cellphones, you tap on one of four sections that contain letters from a QWERTY keyboard. As you tap away, the SIP tries to figure out what you’re trying to type and lists its presumptions to which you tap the correct one. You’ll save a slew of time on the longer words, but shorter ones may only save you frustration in getting the right letters to type out.
With a free trial being offered, an updated interface, and a speed gain, this may be all the enticement needed to try out TenGo’s SIP. I’m going to give it a try.
