GPS Tracking Via Google Maps For Free
There’s nothing more I like than when you can merge new technologies together that started off for completely different purposes. 3dTracking is one such example.
Taking GPS hardware and Internet connectivity and coupling it with Google Maps, you can now track where you or someone else are, live. All trips are even recorded for later access to see where you, or someone else, has been. Who would have thought you’d be able to use Google Maps to see just where little Johnny is at 10:00 at night? Yes, there are other great uses for this as well but hey, spying on your kids is always so much fun. :)
For me, I’d love using this to track my client calls on a day-to-day basis. I could easily go back and see where I was on any given day and even map out future trips more efficiently by reviewing my various calls. And to have it on such a pretty map such as Google’s makes it nice, too. :)
The best part of this service is that it’s free. The founders of 3dTracking tell us, “We will never charge you for either download or use of our applications, for transmitting data to our servers or for viewing live or historic maps through our Web site.” Free means free! Just too cool, you know what I mean?

There is another, comparable free GPS tracking software available, but if it can meet the standards of 3dTracking is a difficult one..
they use Google Earth and Google Maps and have lots off stuff I don’t need.:)

Hi,
I am ruuning a small scale freelance IT solution company, One of our client have a requirement:
He has to deliver goods at doorstep of several agencies in the area. This is done through n number of trucks, he wanna keep track on the current location of each truck and halt time location wise. all data could be stored in our database and he can check them online when required.

3D Tracking offer really good service for free. There is another good free gps tracking service by InstaMapper. It provides real time tracking via mobile phone from free. You can view your location on Google maps and data is updated every 5 seconds. You may take a look at its features here:

im just programming a software to track GPS live on Googlemaps. This is done by a Windows Mobile Application, an a Bluetooth GPS. Data is shown live on the Browser.

I am loooking for a program to use with my bluetooth gps to show where , when , and ESPECIALLY to track how fast my vehicle is travelling (small town with cops that LUV to say I am going faster than what I am really travellling. Is there a program I can link to my gps instead of buying a tracker????
