JBL Helps You Get There On Time

The next time your clock wakes you up with soothing music in the morning to wake you up, you may be hitting a very unique snooze button on a top of a ringed speaker.

JBL announced today it’s new On Time “time machine dock for iPod”. JBL kept correcting me when I called it a clock radio for your iPod. “It is the top off the line of JBL sound for you iPod,” I was told. But ya, there’s a clock radio in there, right? Yes, there is, but JBL is correct, it is a very nice sounding piece of hardware that make you sing when awakened by it.

I was told by company officials that the new On Time employees Halo acoustics. In simple terms, it provides a 360-degree sound field. The demo units where up against a wall, to a point, but truth was, I didn’t get that stereo “bleed” when moving around it. It sounded good from all directions. The highs were high and the mid-range well defined. The lows were not booming with anything to make your shirt ripple against your shirt, but for a little guy like this, it was good enough. It does have a sub-out if you really need to go there.

I agree with JBL, it is its best sounding system thus far and I look forward to getting the review unit and letting you all know just how good it really is from a more quiet prospective then the noisy hall of Moscone Center.

The JBL On Time will be an exclusively available from the Apple Store online and in malls until March at which time it will be widely available at all retailers.
