Portable Office, the version of OpenOffice that lets you take the entire suite with you on a USB drive, has just been updated to 2.0.1. Minor bug updates have been applied.
If you’re looking for a Microsoft Office alternative that will read and write to most of those documents, for free, then you may wish to take a look at Portable Office as well as OpenOffice. Both free and both great alternatives to MS Office. The free office suite also supports Lotus and Word Perfect documents.
