Samsung Releases World Smartphone That’ll Cost You the World

  • No Related Post

Samsung and Verizon have unleashed the big brother to the SCH-i730, the i830. It’s the phone Verizon is pushing as, “the ultimate tool for the global business traveler.” Ya, wait to you see what that business traveler is going to have to fork out for this puppy. Talk about ultimate! For $600 (with a two year contract!) you can quickly tick-off your boss for the new year by sending a PO right over to Verizon’s Business division for this ultimate baby.

What’s new? Just the addition of GSM for over-seas carrier use. That’s it. Still even using PocketPC 2003SE! You’d think after 8 months of the release of the i730, Samsung and Verizon could have at least slapped on Windows Mobile 5.0. I mean, based on my lackluster performance and daily soft resets of my i730, you know neither company fully test these devices.

But hey, if you’ve got $700 and travel to Europe a lot, then this might be of interest to you. Me? I’d just get a cheap GSM phone for Europe and a Moto RAZR V3 for here. With the money you save from buying this bank-dated-brick, you’ll be able to pay-off a two year contract for Europe easy.

Ultimate shock will be available January 10th to enterprise customers.
